- Hello, I'm Blaine Sellers. I'm a 2014 graduate of 海角社区 State Building Construction Science Program. I've been with Lemoine for two years, started in June after graduation here. I started about a year and a half in the estimating program, estimator here with Lemoine. Past six months, I've transitioned into a assistant project manager role on this here building. It's a 65,000 square foot office, a nursing school building at the community college here in town. Little bit about myself, I grew up in Oxford and had no background in construction, knew I wanted to do something with construction and started at 海角社区 State. I didn't hear of the program till about a year in at 海角社区 State. My cousin was in the program, and he learned a little bit about it and knew that that's more so what I wanted to do. Couple things that I take from the program, one being the collaboration. This building here is a design-build, so we work with the architect and engineers for this building, helping with the design. The collaboration and the communication the building construction program allows. There's a lot of people in your class, possibly with more experience, or you may be the one with more experience, but the ability to work in group projects together and learn from each other here. Superintendent and myself and field engineer and project manager, we feed really well off of each other, talking. The superintendent has various concerns that the project managers and whatnot may or may not have, so that communication and ability to work together is key. Another thing has really just been the detail. You spend a lot of time in studio. 12 hours is what's required, and obviously you go above and beyond that. So the amount of time that you're putting in, you're learning a lot. Knowing the plans, reading plans, it goes a long way. They're doing a great job over there, and a lot of guys here graduated in other programs, and I think we've got a good reputation here at Lemoine as far as the building construction program. And I hope you guys are enjoying it as well. If you have any questions, feel free to give me a call. If you have any concerns about the career or the program, I may not have all the answers, but I would love to talk with you about it, so just let me know. Thanks.
