Why did you choose CAADatMSU

I was drawn toward CAADatMSU due to the accomplished programs within CAAD. I've been passionate about architecture, construction, and design since I was a child; therefore, when surveying architecture and construction programs throughout the southeast, º£½ÇÉçÇø State's Building Construction Science Department quickly stood out amongst the choices. The studio-based curriculum and overall approach here is unique, along with the added value and comradery present at MSU.Ìý

Why did you choose CAADatMSU?

I grew up working with my dad in construction, and when I found out about the BCS department there was no doubt in my mind that’s what I was going to do.

Favorite spot on campus?

I’d say Howell Building because all my friends study there.

If you could go back and tell your high school self one thing, what would it be?

Enjoy high school more and don’t stress over grades; they don’t matter as much until you get to college.

Why did you choose CAADatMSU?

I plan to go into the field of construction and to own my own construction company, and the BCS department is the best MSU has to offer.

Favorite spot on campus?

It has to be Dudy Noble; it’s hard to beat a weekend baseball game.

Why did you choose CAADatMSU?

I chose CAAD because I really loved the studio-based program and that we get a business administrative minor along with the BCS degree.

Favorite spot on campus?

My favorite spot on campus is the Drill Field. It is the perfect place to enjoy the sun, read a book, or talk with friends.

Robert Smith and Justin Smith

Why did your company join our advisory board?

Maroon runs through our blood. Robert graduated in the Construction Engineering program in the 1980s, and I graduated from BCS in 2011 as part of the first class. We joined the board in effort to bring awareness to challenges our industry faces. It's important for students/faculty to see and hear of these challenges from a subcontractor's perspective.
