John Ross
Overview
Summary:
John is an Assistant Professor at º£½ÇÉçÇø State University, º£½ÇÉçÇø where he teaches courses and conducts research in architectural design, digital fabrication, environmental building systems, and building performance modeling. Prior to joining º£½ÇÉçÇø State University, John taught design studios, seminars, and digital tools workshops at the University of Texas at Arlington, University of Minnesota, Auburn University, and Lund University, Sweden. In addition to his teaching and research, John has practiced architecture in leading multinational architecture firms in the USA, UK, Spain, and China where he has been a part of many research and development teams regarding digital tools and workflows. John has over 20 years of experience working in collaborative environments, both academically and professionally, and his leadership responsibilities have ranged from being a design director at the Shanghai, China office of a large multinational architecture firm with headquarters in the USA to key roles in research and technical development at offices in the USA, where he was instrumental in introducing digital workflows, organizing seminars on emerging technologies, and identifying ways to improve methods of working.
